Istanbul (TR). From 29th till 31st of May the final Coupe d’Europe for club teams Three Cushion was organized in the beautiful Sports Center Siyavuspasa in Istanbul. After the pre-qualifications in different countries 6 club teams were placed in two groups. After the group matches the teams of BBSK (TR), FC Porto (PT), AEJ/Dallinga (NL) and Andernos (FR) reached the semi-finals. AEJ/Dallinga won against FC Porto and in the other semi-final it was Andernos that surprisingly won against the title holder BBSK.
In the final Andernos couldn’t repeat their success because AEJ/Dallinga was too strong for the team from France. The team of AEJ/Dallinga with Frederic Caudron, Dick Jaspers, Eddy Merkxs and Jean Paul de Bruijn played the whole tournament on a top level and therefore deserved to win the gold medal.
The event was a great success and our thanks go to the Turkish Federation and the Club BBSK for the organisation and their hospitality.
