This weekend, the Wedel Billiard Club in Germany is once again the centre of attention for women billiards as they are organising a CEB 3-cushion training camp for ladies, by this point a yearly tradition. Under the supervision of 3-cushion veteran Martin Horn, 6 of the women top players in Europe will practice and learn new tricks together, a good preparation for the upcoming season that is starting with the World Championship 3-Cushion Ladies in September. Before the camp, players were nominated by their federations and then selected based on their place on the current CEB Ladies 3C ranking.
The participants this year are Güzin Mujde Karakasli (TUR), Karina Jetten (NED), Steffi Träm (GER), Irena Michalková (CZE), Helga Mitterböck (AUS) and Monique van Exter (NED). Jörg Unger of Wedel BC is coordinating the camp together with Eva Viding Bussell, the CEB Youth & Women Director, and as always, we truly appreciate the effort and dedication from Jörg, Martin and Wedel Billiard Club to make this happen every year and keep the tradition going.
