From now on the former CEB Sport News takes the name of "CEB OFFICIAL NEWS".
This is an official CEB communication. All the recipients are kindly requested to take it into account for what they are concerned.

1. THE 1ST CEB REFEREES CERTIFICATE
On October 4th and 5th the CEB, in collaboration with the Hellenic Federation of Precision Sports, organized the first ever CEB REFEREES CERTIFICATE in the magnificent facilities of the Trisponto Billiard Club in Athens. In the first day a training camp in the 3-Cushion discipline took place; the second day was dedicated to the examinations of the candidates. The Trisponto Club was a perfect place; it was closed for both days to all club members and visitors so that the 8 registered participants, 2 Swedes, 6 Greeks and the instructor could be in the best possible condition.
This activity was part of the programme to help National Federations that do not yet have CEB international referees.
The CEB Board is very pleased with the success of this activity and congratulates the 8 participants, who, thanks to the enormous interest shown, all of them passed the exams held on October 5th.
At the last CEB Board meeting held on October 31st, the 8 candidates were appointed provisional CEB referees in 3-Cushion. (link)

2. SWEDEN BEST PRACTICE: HELSINGBORG OPEN JUNIOR CAROM
A very interesting event has been organized by the Swedish Billiards Federation. The carom discipline has been included in the Swedish Youth Billiards Tour which normally was dedicated to the pool discipline alone.

Many young pool and carom players and their coaches gathered in the BK Borgen for a meeting which was not only a sport event but also an experience aimed to build a strong sense of community, relationships and amusement. The young pool players had the opportunity to know the carom discipline in a easier version thank to the guidance of the Swedish Carom Sport Director Sven Junghaven and the well known Swedish player Mio Svensson. Read the full article on the Best Practice section of the CEB website. (link to Members Corner page).

CEB kindly reminds to all interested federations about the new section on CEB website ("Members corner") concerning best practices and useful materials. We invite all the federations to contribute to this section by sending us any kind of material they deem useful for the development of our sport.
