MARCOS MORALES IS THE NEW U25 3-CUSHION CHAMPION
The Spanish talent Marcos Morales showed his best today in Aarhus adding his name to the Rolls of Honor of this competition.
The final was a world class match; Marcos closed the match to 40 points in 21 innings with a run of 8, leaving the Greek at 27.
Earlier the two Germans got the bronze losing their respective semifinals: Seleventas outplayed Amir Ibraimov by 40-25 in 29 innings and Morales beat Aygün Cin by 40-33 in 39.

AARHUS: ONE PODIUM FOR THREE NATIONS
The podium players in Aarhus are now decided, we now have to wait tomorrow to know the color of their medals.
For the first time, in the short history of this championship, there will be two Germans and one Greek on the podium, the fourth nation represented will be Spain whose representative won the first edition in 2021. It will also be the first time without a Turkish player in the last 4.
Tomorrow's semifinals will look like this:
At 10:30 Dimitrios Seleventas (GR) vs Amir Ibraimov (DE)
At 13:00 Aygün Cin (DE) vs Marco Morales (ES)
Today, after the last 16 round which determined the early exit of some excellent talents, we reached the quartersfinal stage in the afternoon until evening.
Those 4 matches were exciting and many favorites for the final victory were involved: the first to reach the semifinals was Ibraimov at the expenses of the Italian Alessio D'Agata in an incredible breathtaking final (40-39 in 34/33 inning). Then it was the turn of Seleventas to overcome the resistance of the Turkish Denizcan Akkoca (40-31 in 30). In the second session we witnessed another razor-edge clash finished with a 40-39 score between other two favorites: Marcos Morales won Seymen Ozbas (Turkiye); on the other table Cin at his first EC sent home the Greek Georgios Tsokantas (40-37 in 39) and clinched a spot on the podium.

EC 3-CUSHION U25: LAST 16 ARE DECIDED IN AARHUS
The first day in Aarhus (Denmark) is over and the qualification rounds of the European Championship 3-Cushion U25 are finished. The field of the participants has been reduced to the last 16 advancing to the KO rounds which will start tomorrow morning.
In group A Morales (ES), Van't Zelfden (NL) and Kristiansen (DK) won one match each; Morales and Van't Zelfden got a better average and qualified to last 16, Kristiansen was third.
Panaia (FR) won group B with two wins, Tsokantas (GR) was the runner up with one win. Jensen (DK) was eliminated.
Ibraimov (DE) was the best in group C, D'Agata (IT) is the runner up, Bollansee (BE) is out.
Ozbas (TR) dominated group D, Philipoom (NL) is second. Falangas (GR) had two defeats.
Group E: Akkoca (TR), Criscino (IT) and Mortensen (DK) with one win each; Akkoca and Criscino are qualified thanks to the average, Mortensen is third for only 2 points.
In group F Martinez (ES) won twice, Cin (DE) won Ozkul (TR); Martinez and Cin got the pass for the last 16.
Group G: Seleventas (GR) won two exceptional matches: 60 points in 30 innings. Tangui Duriez is second; Kasemi is third and out.
Nathan Duriez (FR) won group H with 2 victories; Svensson (SE) won Sainz-Pardo (ES) and reached the last 16. Sainz-Pardo is third.
Best run so far by Seymen Ozbas and Nathan Duriez (9). Best average by Dimitrios Seleventas (2,000)
Last 16 are scheduled tomorrow morning at 11:00 and at 13:30, quartersfinal will follow in the afternoon.
