The « Société des Amateurs de Billard de Marseille », with the collaboration of the French federation of billard, organized from November 24 to 27 the Euro Grand Prix of Billiard Artistique, a competition in which a total number of 27 players took part in, and that 14 of those belonged to the French federation, 3 belonged to the Turkish, 3 to the Belgian, 3 to the Spanish, 2 to the Hungarian,1 to the Dutch, and 1 who belonged to the Austrian.
The same organizers have already celebrated a Grand Prix of Billiard Artistique in Marseille on January 2014 and on October 2015.
Once the preliminary round was done, the final round came, in which 16 players participated.
The semifinals faced, in one side : the Spanisch players Fonellosa and Sanchez; and on the other side: the French player Hammen and the Dutch Dericks, turning out to be winners Fonellosa and Hammen respectively.
In the final match, very exciting, the French player Hammen is imposed to the Spanisch Fonellosa by the result of 3 sets to 2.
Thus, the first position corresponds to the French player Michaël Hammen, the second to the Spanisch Xavier Fonellosa, and the third places were for the Spanisch Sergio Sanchez and the Dutch René Dericks.
Congratulations to Michaël Hammen.
There are some aspects that should be highlighted from the competition: the amazing organization carried out by the members of the Société des Amateurs de Billard de Marseille, the great level that most of the players who participated showed off during the competition, and the great attendance to the event also stands out. The cosmopolitan city of Marseille always responds to the call of billiard artistique, contributing to the overall success of the event.
