DAY 3: EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 3-CUSHION U25, BURAK HASHAS KEEPS HIS TITLE.
Turkish young talent Burak Hashas successfully defended the U25 3-Cushion title taking home the gold medal for the second time in a row. He defeated the French Maxime Panaia in the final match with the score of 40-24 in 20/19 innings. The match was somehow undecided until the 10th inning (13-11 for Burak) when Burak scored a run of 11 that changed the story. From there on Panaia had to pursue but could not shorten the gap until the end.
Earlier, the first semifinal was an exciting match: there has never been a big gap between Hashas and D'Agata. Both played well with strong focus and both had their turn to lead the match and opportunities to increase the gap which didn't happen. In the final part of the match a couple of mistakes made the difference and Hashas arrived first at the 40 point distance in 25 innings while D'Agata had 36 points.
The second semifinal was a thrilling one as well. Ozbas run immediately away with few small runs getting a 20-10 advantage at the break after 10 innings. After the break Panaia strongly came back scoring 15 points in 3 innings and taking the lead. Ozbas followed and keep the contact until 33-32 in the 23th inning but it was the French to run again few small runs in the last 3 innings to which Ozbas didn't react enough quickly. Final score was 40-33 in 26/25 innings.
Burak Hashas got the best general average and best match average of the tournament: 1,594 and 2,500. Best run for Alessio D'Agata (14).

DAY 2: EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 3-CUSHION U25, THE SEMIFINALISTS.
This morning's daily session in Salamina was reserved for the round of 16 and later in the afternoon the quarters final were played.
Last 16 round was played to 40 points; the Turkish Burak Hashas was the first to advance to quarters final thanks to a 2,500 match against the Dutch Joris Van't Zelfden. Alessio D'Agata (Italy) and Georgios Tsokantas (Greece) also qualified to next round with victories in 33 and 30 innings on Stefanos Alexandropoulos (Greece) and Marcos Morales (Spain). Fourth player to complete the first two quarters final was Ali Ibraimov (Germany) who eliminated Nick Rosier (Belgium) in a fight to the last point (40-39). In the next four matches of last 16 round Seymen Ozbas (Turkiye) was the best one with a 40-20 in 27 win against Lukas Mortensen (Denmark). Maxime Panaia (France) won Simon Blondeel (Germany) and Nathan Duriez (France) defeated Dimitrios Seleventas (Greece) on the finish line (40-39 in 30/29). The last match was an all Spanish challenge won by Daniel Sainz-Pardo against Sergio Martinez (40-37 in 36).
Thus the quarters final were finally set:
D'Agata (IT) vs Ibraimov (DE)
Tsokantas (GR) vs Hashas (TR)
Panaia (FR) vs Duriez (FR)
Ozbas (TR) vs Sainz-Pardo (ES)
Three out of the four quarters finals matches were clear victories where the loser barely reached half of the distance: D'Agata for Italy and Hashas and Ozbas for Turkiye got a spot on the podium. Panaia had to face some more resistance from his compatriot but finally he was the fourth to reach the podium.
D'Agata and Hashas will meet in the first semifinal tomorrow morning at 10.30 local time. The same semifinal was played in 2022-2023 in Antalya and it was a thrilling one. Ozbas and Panaia will play the second semifinal at 13.00 (local time).

DAY 1: EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 3-CUSHION U25: LAST 16 ARE DECIDED IN SALAMINA
In the town hall of Salamina the last 16 of the European Championship 3-Cushion U25 were decided today.
Group matches have been completed and the first two of each group earned their pass to the next round.

Group C: Simon Blondeel and Seymen Ozbas

The Italian Alessio D'Agata is the leader of the qualification ranking with a general average of 1,463 and a run of 14, the best match to 30 points was closed by D'Agata in 14 innings. Behind him Sergio Martinez, Spain (1,224) and Greek Dimitrios Seleventas (1,200).

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 3-CUSHION U25: SALAMINA, GREECE.
Greece is back after many years in the organization of a CEB 3-cushion billiard competition.
The Hellenic Federation of Precision Sports is ready to organize the European Championship 3-Cushion U25, from April 26th to 28th.
This is the third edition of this competition created by the CEB in 2021.
The venue of the event is the Dimitris Bogris Hall in the town hall of Salamina; the municipality and the Major himself are greatly supporting the event.
The 24 best athletes in the age limit are expected in Salamina, representing 10 CEB federations.
The format is based on 8 qualification round-robin groups of 3 athletes, the best two from each group will advance to the direct elimination stage of last 16. The tournament will then continue until the final with the KO format.
The defending champion is Burak Hashas from Turkiye.
The competition will start with the groups on Friday 26th; last 16 and quarters final are scheduled on Saturday 27th; semifinals and finals will be played on Sunday 28th. The matches will be played on Simonis cloths with Aramith balls.
