The EXPO of Calangianus was ready this morning to show the final stage of this amazing competition.
In the morning session the two semifinals were planned.
On the main TV table the all-Italian team of Marco Zanetti and Michelangelo Aniello faced Luc Tran Thanh (Viet Nam) and Daniel Lopez (Italy). Zanetti made immediately clear his intentions scoring the 25 points of the carom fraction in only 6 innings, his opponent could only score 11 points. Consequently the road to the victory for Aniello in the 5-pins fraction was cleared. The final score was 200-154 for the Italians.
On the other table there was a different story. Tat Hoa Nguyen (Vietnam) and Rocco Summa (Italy) played against Minh Hoan Viet Thon (Viet Nam) and David Martinelli (Italy). In the carom fraction the match was quite balanced: Nguyen won 25-21 in 18 innings. Hence the 5-pins fraction was a nail biting match where Summa could only benefit of a 16 points advantage. Martinelli pursued tenaciously at close distance until the end but it was Summa to score the last decisive points stopping the scoreboard at 200-198.

In the final match Marco Zanetti performed again very strongly against the Vietnamese Nguyen Hoa Tat that fought back showing his talent. However Marco closed the match with the score of 25-13 in 13 innings, giving to his team a strong advantage. Once the multiplier was applied Summa had to face Aniello starting from 52-100 to a final distance of 200, which was too much for him.
The Zanetti / Aniello team finally won this first exciting edition of the International Biathlon-Teams Cup Open in front of a large cheering audience in the Calangianus EXPO.

Saturday, September 30th.
In the morning session the first two quarters-final have been played, hence the first semifinal was decided.
The all Italian team made up by Zanetti and Aniello had a clear victory on the all Danish team of Kristoffersen and Kristansen by 200 - 109.
Carrion (Spain) and Quarta (Italy) couldn't survive the second quarter final against Tran Thanh (Viet Nam) and Lopez (Italy) losing by 200-157.
In both matches the important advantage gained in the 3C fraction was crucial. Zanetti won by 25-10 in 15; Tran won 25-18 in 21.
Therefore the first semifinal will be Zanetti / Aniello against Tran Thanh / Lopez. On stage tomorrow morning at 11:00.
In the afternoon session two more quarters-final have been played. In both matches an Italian-Korean team faced an Italian-Vietnamese team and in both matches the Italian-Vietnames team had the better.
The huge gap earned by the Vietnamese 3-cushion players on the Korean players (25-3 and 25-5) made it very easy for the Italians 5-Pins specialists. So Summa and Nguyen won by 200-137 on Gargiulo and Kim D. R., while Martinelli and Thon Viet won by 200-104 on Gomez and Kim J.Y.. The two winner will face each other in the second semifinal scheduled tomorrow morning at 11.00.
Only Italians and Vietnamese survived until the end: an all Italian team and three Italian-Vietnamese teams.

Friday, September 29th
In the optimal venue of the EXPO of Calangianus the first ever International Biathlon team cup reached the final stage.
We could witness exceptional performances in the disciplines of 3-Cushion and 5-Pins.
Many matches were exciting and some groups had been decided by very small gaps in the averages of the teams.
The round of 16 is going to start this afternoon at 17:00 pm. Don't miss the live streaming on Billiard Channel.
Eight more teams had to go home after losing in the round of 16.
The quarter finals are scheduled for tomorrow at 13.00 and 18.00.
