Two more groups of the Kozoom 3C Challenge Cup 2022 are on stage: group E and F will play from today until May 20th.
Group E: Eddy Merckx, Can Capak, Jerome Barbeillon
Group F: Torbjörn Blomdahl, Peter Ceulemans, Pierre Soumagne
Games starting at 14:00 with first session of both groups. Six sets are playing each day for each group.
DAY 1: The two groups share the same quite balanced score after the first daily session: 3-2-1. Eddy Merckx is leading his group while Blomdahl is on top of his. Barbeillon and Ceulemans are the runners up. Capak and Soumagne are chasing in third position. The overall situation is widely open so far. Highest averages by Blomdahl (2,316), Ceulemans (1,895), Barbeillon (1,720), Merckx (1,654).
DAY 2: In group E Eddy Merckx shifted to an higher gear winning 5 of the six daily sets. Capak won the remaining set. The score is now 8-2-2 in favor of the Belgian who seems to have a clear victory in his hands. In group F Blomdahl and Ceulemans won 3 sets each. Zero for Soumagne that is probably out of the game. Score 6-5-1. All will be decided tomorrow.
DAY 3: In group E 2 sets were more than enough for Eddy Merckx to win his group with a general average of 1,836. Jerome Barbeillon won 3 sets today and finished in second place. Only one set for Can Capak in third position. Final sets score 10-5-3. Group F was earthbreaking. Peter Ceulemans and Torbjörn Blomdahl reached the last set with 7 sets won each and Pierre Soumagne with 3. The winner was therefore decided only in the last set with the victory of Ceulemans. Final sets core 8-7-3.
Eddy Merckx and Peter Ceulemans join Dick Jaspers, Marco Zanetti, Roland Forthomme and Michael Nilsson for the final stage. Last two sets for two more winners are yet to be played and are scheduled in June 8th to 10th.
