12 young players from 7 nations gave themselves appointment from 22 to 24th April in Leuven, Belgium.
In the new sportcenter “DE Vaart” of the local organizing club KBC Zanzibar, the spectators were assisting to a well-organized tournament. All 12 players showed great billiard skills, and many games were played on a high level.
Most of the games were full of suspense, - it was also a “mental” battle for the players-, some games, especially the half final between Simon Blondeel (GER) and Milan Ettel (CZ) were developing into a crime, and it was just after the second penalty session that Simon Blondeel was going to the final.
In the final the two players, Maxime Panaia and Simon Blondeel were a long time at a same level, but then, Maxime Panaia made a run of seven points and his opponent wasn´t able to close that gap anymore.
Maxime Panaia finished first his 25 points and he is a well-deserved winner, not just for the final, but towards the whole tournament.
