EUROPE AGAINST ASIA: THE BATTLE FOR THE 3-CUSHION THRONE IS ON THE SCENE IN VIETNAM.
The World Championship 3-Cushion Individual reached its finish day in Vietnam. Europe and Asia secured two spots each on the podium. Who will get the best ones?
Tomorrow the best four athletes still standing will compete for the medals. Two veterans frontmen of the old Europe will face two representatives of Asian countries where the 3-cushion discipline is now widely popular.
Here are the semifinals, schedule is in local time:
11:00 - Eddy Merckx (Belgium) vs M.W.Cho (South Korea)
13:00 - Dick Jaspers (The Netherlands) vs T.L.Tran (Vietnam).

The 76th World Championship 3-Cushion Individual is just around the corner.
The 2023 champion, Phuong Vinh Bao, will defend his title at home. It's the first time Vietnam hosts this event.
The tables are installed in the Sea Links City Resort & Golf Hotel, in the province of Binh Thuan.
On Wednesday 25th the group stage will start. KO stage will be played from 27th to 29th. On Saturday 28th the UMB General Assembly will also take place.
48 players from all over the world will compete for the gold medal divided in 16 groups of 3. Best two from each group will advance to last 32 KO round.
CEB is represented by 23 athletes. Among them Dick Jaspers (NL), Martin Horn (DE), Eddy Merckx (BE), Marco Zanetti (IT), Torbjorn Blomdahl (SE), Tayfun Tasdemir (TR), Tolgahan Kiraz (TR), Jeremy Bury (FR), Nikos Polichronopoulos (GR) and Berkay Karakurt (TR) have been invited by the UMB as seeded players because of their position in the World Ranking. The 13 left have been nominated by their respective National Federations: David Pennor (SE), Ruben Legazpi (ES), Jeffrey Jorissen (NL), Peter Ceulemans (BE), Brian Knudsen (DK), Ronny Lindemann (DE), Gerhard Kostistanski (AT), Turgay Orak (TR), Mikael Devogelaere (FR), Rui Manuel Costa (PT), Kostantinos Kokkoris (GR), Novak Radek (CZ) and Alessio D'Agata (IT).
