CHARLOTTE SØRENSEN IS THE NEW 3-CUSHION WORLD CHAMPION LADIES
Last year in Ankara three Asians were on the podium and only one European got the bronze. Now Europe took its revenge and the outcome is reversed.
The new World Champion 3-Cushion Ladies was crowned today after an exciting quality match. The Dane Charlotte Sørensen climbed on the top step of the podium after a narrow victory (30-29 in 27/26 innings, high run of 8 for both) against Therese Klompenhouwer (Netherlands).
Earlier in the all-Dutch semifinal Karina Jetten lost to Klompenhouwer and the Vietnamese outsider Nhi Hoangyen Nguyen was defeated by Sørensen.
Gold medal: Charlotte Sørensen (Denmark)
Silver medal: Therese Klompenhouwer (Netherlands)
Bronze medals: Karina Jetten (Netherlands) and Nhi Hoangyen Nguyen (Vietnam)

The fight for gold will start tomorrow morning. Three European and one Vietnamese survived to the semifinals and will compete to clinch the golden medal.
