BRANDENBURG - The stage at the European championship 5 pins already was coloured Italian azure blue with four Italians in the best four. The azzurri 5 pins team was also unbeatable in the championship for nation teams today. The Danish team was beaten in the final 3-0, the relay-match wasn't even played because of the score. BRANDENBURG - The championship started with 64 participants, Kenny Miatton was the reigning champion and the Belgian was again in the final this afternoon. But instead of a second title for Miatton, 37-year-old Czech Radovan Hajek was the best at the European championship three cushion on the small billiard. He won 40-26 in twenty innings. On Day 7 of the European Billiards Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel/Germany only two more disciplines had been finished. As usual the team-event for 5-Pins-players was dominated by the Italian players. They already won all medals in the individual tournament and today they continued were the stopped two days ago. Leppens wins thriller versus Swertz

Today’s highlight of the European Billiards Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel/Germany was without a doubt the final of the Cadre 47/2 tournament. Eddy Leppens (Belgium) played against Raymund Swertz from the Netherlands and both played on the highest level. Leppens opened the final with a run of 250 points. Frédéric Caudron is back on top of the European 1-Cushion-throne. After his wins in 2013 and 2015 the Belgian made the hat-trick and received the gold medal at the European Billiards Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel/Germany.The final against Jean-Paul de Bruijn (Netherlands) was a very close match until the score of 65:63 in favor of Caudron. On day 4 of the European Billiard Championships the 1-cushion tournament and the 5-Pins-event was the focus. In total 24 players participated in 1-cushion and we are down to only four players at the end of the day. Four years ago Marco Zanetti from Italy became the European Champion in 3-Cushion-Billiards in a brilliant final against Christian Rudolph from Germany. Today he repeated his great success by beating Frédéric Caudron from Belgium. The final itself was surprisingly one-sided as Zanetti played like he was from another planet. BRANDENBURG - He is twenty years young, born in Valencia, lives in Los Naranjos and played his second European championship three cushion in Brandenburg.
